zallen.dev is a working notebook about AI systems - agents, MCP, evals, and the cost of running any of it in production. Everything here is either something I built or something I read closely enough to explain.

The site is produced by a four-stage loop: pull the week's sources, pick what matters, draft the piece, maintain the index. The loop is the subject as much as the tool - every part of it is documented in Building an AI System, and the pieces it runs on are in Projects.

Where a fact isn't written yet, the page says so rather than filling the space.
